Aidan's 1 Month Old

I know I say this often but, time really has flown by. I can't believe 1 month ago Aidan made his grand entrance into this world. He is such a sweet, beautiful baby. I love staring at him and watching his serious face. He has spiced it up lately with a cute little smirk and an occasional belly laugh. Not sure if it's gas or if he's learning to smile on his own. So far in his month of life he has rolled over 3x's (flook or not), he lifts and turns his head while on his belly, he's learning to follow objects and he cues:) He really is a gift from God. We truly are blessed!

4 weeks old today

Aidan turns 4 weeks old today. It's so sad. Time seems to be flying by and my little boy is getting bigger by the day...really! I brought him to the doctor yesterday and he has gained 2lb10oz in 4 weeks totalling 10lb 6oz and 21inches long. They told me to feed him when he cries but I'm afraid he may turn into "Sumo Baby." He does seem to cry alot more since he turned 3 weeks old. We are afraid he is colicky but still hoping it's just from his major growth spurt:)

The plan is to take pics of both boys today and find time to post them....wish me luck:)

Long time no blog

I know it's been a long time since I last blogged. What can I say other than I've been BUSY?!?

As you all know I had Aidan! He is adorable:) I really thought having two boys so close together would be impossible but not so much. Well until this past week. Aidan has showed signs of being colicky. When he is sleeping he looks like an angel, he's so precious. When he wakes, he eats like a champ (hence the double chin). Other than that he crys and crys and crys. He appears to be in pain, possibly from gas, reflux, I'm not sure??? I bring him in today to have the doctor check him out. Please pray nothings wrong with him and there is an easy fix:)

Ethan, well he is a hot mess. He acts out alot more and crys over nearly nothing some days. I believe out of boredom. There is only so much you can do with a 20 month old in the house everyday. He is lucky he is soooo stinking adorable and has a laugh that drives me wild. He is showing more and more signs that he loves his baby brother. An shows an occasional attempt to kiss him and he loves to touch his hands and feet...gently.

I LOVE being a Mommy x's two! Now I've got to go pray for more patience and play with my two boys. LOL Don't expect another update too soon but I promise sooner than before!

Welcome to the World, Aidan Cole!

I know most of you have been checking the blog waiting for an update. Unfortunately, my computer is not working up to par and I'm unable to update at this time. As soon as I can get to Best Buy I will. Hopefully they do not keep it too long. My GREAT friend Melissa has agreed to post this and a pic of baby Aidan. Aidan Cole Vest was born Tuesday, July 28th at 9:30 am via c-section, weighing 7 lbs 12 oz and 21 inches long. He is absolutely beautiful, not to mention a wonderful baby. He went for his 2 week appointment and had gained an entire pound in one week! He loves to eat:) He also surprised myself and the doctor by holding himself up on his forearms and rolling from his belly to his back! It may have been a fluke, but it was quite impressive:)

We are so blessed to have a gorgeous, healthy family. Thanks for the calls, texts, thoughts and prayers. Keep checking in.

38 weeks 3 days Aidan Update

I had another follow up appt. NOTHING has changed! I am still 1cm 50%effaced. Supposedly Aidan's head has come down a little further:) ***TMI alert*** I did lose my mucous plug on Monday but that's not an indicator of labor or anything else for that matter:) I know that Nana was the one who voted for July 19th-July 23rd....still hoping that she wins:) If not there were six other people who voted between July 24th- July 28th, they maybe the winner???? We will see what curve ball Aidan tosses at us in the next couple of days. If I don't go into labor on my own by the morning of the 28th, I'm schedule for a c-section 9am @ Morton Plant Hospital. Wish me luck!

Aidan update

We are trying to get Ethan ready for the big arrival of his little brother Aidan. We are not to sure how he will respond??? We are thinking he will be jealous and cry alot for attention.We are hoping that they will one day sooner than later become best buds:)

For those of you who voted for Aidan's arrival July 29th or after...I am glad to say you will not be in the running. Not that there is a prize except of course the satisfaction of WINNING! If I don't go into labor on my own before Tuesday July 28th,I will be having a scheduled c-section at 9am that morning. Nobody guessed for before July 19th so I'm hoping that by some miracle he will decide to visit us by Sunday. I'm getting extremely uncomfortable and HUGE!

We will keep you updated as I continue to go to my weekly appointments. As for right now, I'm currently 1cm dilated and 50% effaced. For those of you who are not aware. This means I have 9 more BIG cm to go and 50% more to efface (cervix thin).

Did I mention that I hope that those of you who voted Aidan will be over 8lb are wrong??? LOL! I sure am hoping he will be smaller...for my selfishness.

19 Months and Patriotic

WOW! Our little boy is such a BIG boy now! He has a "fixed" hair cut. He celebrated his second 4th of July with his BIG boy friends. He's waiting to become a BIG brother:) It's amazing the things that he accomplishes. He is definitely a boys boy. He loves throwing balls, climbing on EVERYTHING, swinging bats and golf clubs. He also loves to play rough with his Daddy. We need to watch that or he may try to wrestle Aidan. (LOL) When he does something bad it's almost hard to reprimand him cause he give you a cute little smirk that makes your heart melt! Ethan also enjoys being around the water....any type! He is fearless of the Gulf and of pools. This is a good thing but a scary thing. We are looking into private lessons for him. I think once he learns how to swim he will be off like a fish.

Ethan's 1st hack job....I mean hair cut!

After my doctors appt. I came home and made dinner. That's when my husband thought it'd be a GREAT idea to give his son his 1st haircut. No, my husband doesn't cut his own hair but for some reason he didn't think it would be that complicated to cut his 18 month old sons hair and do a good job! As my mother-in-law would say, "leave hair to the trained professionals." For some dumb reason I went along with it. I was thinking he was only going to "trim" the long pieces to match the length of the rest of his hair. Boy O Boy...I was WRONG!!!!

At first I found myself laughing...ok laughing so hard I had tears. Then, I found the tears coming out of frustration that my husband just HACKED my kids hair and he no longer looks like a baby but a BIG boy with a really bad hair cut:(

We should have listened to Ethan. He tried to get the scissors away from Daddy!

My Mr. Potato Head

Ethan is a goof! He loves to play with his Mr. Potato head. When he plays with the glasses he attempts to put them on himself but they are too little. Instead he puts them on his neck. Thought you would get a couple of giggles looking at these pictures, like I did just watching him:)

I find myself saying very often that I feel Ethan still is a baby and not a toddler yet. Maybe because he doesn't have alot of hair (what he does have is very long and it's going to be cut on Friday), or that he doesn't talk alot.......I'm not sure. When I was downloading photos, I found this one and it made me sad:( He looks like a big boy! I guess he's getting ready to be a BIG brother.

I had to add this picture. It was hilarious! Ethan was playing with his shadow. By the time I got the camera he had enough but I still captured the tail end of his comedy show....and yes it included the balloons:)

34 Weeks/Baby Shower

Thank you Nana and Susan for such a beautiful shower. The Bayou Club is a great place and everything went wonderfully:) I am so blessed to have the two of you in my life. The company was perfect and the gifts were overly generous!

"Playdate" Surprise Shower

Surprise! I have a group of friends that I usually meet up with once a month and we have a playdate with all of our kids. We alternate homes each time. This time we had the playdate at Sheryl's house and all the mom's decided to give me a surprise baby sprinkle:) I loved it! It was definetly nice and extrememly generous of all of them. I am so fortunate to have such GREAT friends!!!!! Thank you ladies!
